ARTIST STATEMENT

Whenever I have something - no matter what that is - if that thing becomes an inspiration to create then the creation that results will never be as deep as the emotion and inspiration that sparked it. I always have something remaining inside of me. I am never completely satisfied with my creations. Years after I have written down a poem, song, completed a painting, or sculpture, I may revisit it and alter a word, change a color, manipulate a sentence, mutate a shape, skew a line, or distort a rhythm. My Aztec symbol is the eagle which is believed to be a perfectionist, but in an unconventional way. We all need to give a direction to our anger, happiness, pleasure, sadness, violence - every emotion. My violent direction is on canvas, to paper, and through song.

“I create to destroy.” Everything I create, every bit of myself, and in every aspect of my life, this is my true story.
