During the deep freeze and slush that can be Minneapolis in winter, the passion and heat of the arts can be our salvation. ArTrujillo Gallery specializes in affordable local and international art, much of it with a rich tropical flavor which will help your home and workspaces feel sunny and celebratory.
Painter Megan Bell and sculptor Luis Chamizo are featured in the newest exhibit at ArTrujillo Gallery opening Saturday February 12 and running thru March 13, 2005.
Megan Bell is a self-taught artist who grew up in the Twin Cities. Ms. Bell’s work is colorful, playful and energetic, and her recent paintings include unconventional portraits of the characters that travel through her life.
Luis Chamizo is originally from Cuba, now living in Austin MN. His carvings in basswood, mahogany and other fine woods describe graceful human figures with a fine finish and an attractive sense of light and shadow.
Also featured in the Gallery are a number of other local artists, many with close ties to Mexico and Latin America. Luis Fitch, Rigel Sauri, Alejandro Trujillo, and Gustavo Lira are some of the well-known names represented. ArTrujillo is packed full of artistic alternatives, and is an entertaining stop on any art viewer’s list.
The opening for the exhibit “Megan Bell & Luis Chamizo” runs from 5pm to 11pm on Saturday February 12th. The public is invited to meet the artists and join in a fun-filled evening of live music, great company, food and drink.
